Pitti Palace

I decided to wander through the Boboli Gardens at Pitti Palace today. I've been hearing all about it for a while now. The funny thing is that all my friends had been a while ago and I still hadn't even though I literally live right next to it. I couldn't believe how big the gardens were! It wasn't a typical garden with a lot of flowers. It was more like hedges, cyprus trees, and fountains. Another garden called the Bardini Garden was connected to the Boboli Gardens. So, I saw those too. It was nice and shady at those gardens so I spent a lot of time there. I sat on a bench in the shade for a while and just started thinking about so many different things. I can't believe my trip is almost over! It's gone so fast, yet, in a way, I feel like it's been ten years since I was home. The Introduction to Tuscany week seems like a lifetime ago. I'm excited to be back home and see my family and friends. I've missed everyone so much! (It's true, I'm not just saying that). Switzerland reminded me a little bit of Maine, and even though I am in Italy this summer, I do miss my Maine! I miss nature. The only greenery in Florence are these gardens so it was nice to see grass and trees!
