Finally!
Finally! I have decided on a study abroad program for this summer. Study Abroad Italy (SAI) is the program I'll be studying with. I'll be centered in Florence. This is where I'll be taking my classes. I'll be in Italy for 7 weeks! The first week is a very special week where I do a lot of field trips and take a course called Cultural Introduction to Italy! That's a week all exploring Tuscany. The remaining 6 weeks I'll be in Florence during the week, but I'll traveling during my four day weekends! I can't wait! I still have a lot of paperwork to complete. It's been a lot of work, but I think it'll definitely be worth it in the end. I'm excited about the other two courses I'm taking as well: "Art, Food, Wine, and Fashion: Creative Advertising of Italian Destinations" and "Professional Food Writing." Sounds like me, doesn't it? How cool do these classes sound? There will be a lot of outside the classroom work involved, I'm sure. A lot of writing and researching. But, being in Italy will definitely be a great location for research and inspiration! Professional Food Writing... way better to take this course in Italy (yum) then in Athens, GA! Four day weekends will be awesome. I'm already making my list of places I want to go to and researching all the different ways to get there! I've talked to other students who have studied abroad in Italy and everyone says Florence and Tuscany are definitely the best, but Cinque Terra isn't far behind. I've been obsessed with looking up pictures and the history of these different places. And, my Italian class this semester is already a pretty good insight! Unfortunately, there tons of different dialects in Italy! Luckily, those in Firenze (Florence) do speak some English. Thank God, right?
